According to Vedic astrology, 'Panchanga' refers to five ('pancha') attributes ('anga') of the day, which are Tithi, Nakshatra, Yoga or NithyaYoga, Karana and Vaar. Panchanga is an ancient system of timekeeping, that presents important dates and their calculations in a tabulated form. Panchanga is based on the Vedic astrology, used in order to know the auspicious and inauspicious moments denoted by the astrological events.
