Lo-Shu Magic Grid

The Lo Shu Grid or Magic Square is a mysterious pattern that forms the basis for Chinese architectural planning and which symbolizes the natural order of the universe. It contains the numbers 1 to 9, dividing it into nine parts. No matter which way the numbers of the square are tallied, they add up to 15. The outside grids stand for each corner of the house, like compass directions. The Chinese compass marks the South on top (but it still correlates with normal) and so the number 9 represents South. The number 3 will be East and 7 will be West.

These numbers relate to one of the eight Trigrams in the Later Heaven arrangement Pa- Kua.

Lo-Shu Feng-Shui is believed to be extremely potent and is based on the two premier symbols of Feng Shui practice the eight-sided Pa-Kua and the nine sector Lo Shu magic square.

Every abode, as such, can be divided into nine sectors, eight corresponding to the eight directions of the compass and the eight sides of the Pa-Kua, and one in the centre. Using detailed formulas, four auspicious and four inauspicious directions for every individual can be identified.

The squares represent the flow of the seasons as well as the rooms of a building or house.

The trigrams of the Lo Shu Magic Square are arranged in the Later Heaven Sequence which stands for earthly order - as contrasted to the Former Heaven Sequence which expresses heavenly order. Best locations and Worst locations are divided into four each.

Feng Shui, dominance is dangerous! Go too far and you get the opposite of what you are searching for. A little medicine is good and needed, overdo it and it will do the effect of poison.
